Sakura

It is cherry blossom time again...so the kids were playing for the Suzuki violin school at the Sakura Festival yesterday in Tuscaloosa.  Everybody did an admirable job and Mom actually remembered her camera.  It was rather low-key as far as Sakura Festivals go...and there were places to make donations and sign statements of support/promises to pray for the Japanese people affected by the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear disaster.

Sarah Ying waits while the big girls play the Bach Concerto for 2 violins.

And after many other pieces...they finally get around to the Suzuki Book 1 pieces she knows:

Ya'll, this group of kids can REALLY make some music.  All of them are incredibly talented...it is a privilege to get to play together at events like this one.

  1. SY is too cute! I've always been amazed at violin playing. I guess we will do the piano, as we have one, and I can teach it in the beginning. So glad you all got to take a trip. DH has a work trip coming up--we can't wait, cuz FREE is the only way we ever get to go anywhere except China=)
