Well, it took some serious work, but we got it done. Our summer is technically over. Today is the first day of school at this place. My oldest daughter graduated from ASFA in 2010, and the next 2 in line are there now. We don't live nearby, so they are in the dorm during the week. Usually home for the weekends. Means lots of driving for Mom and a pretty sizeable dent in our budget, but well worth the trouble since the alternative is homeschooling all the way through high school (not easy when you live in a rural area...no social group for your kids) or attending our local substandard schools (can't even think of going there.)
There were events in Birmingham on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and we made it to all of them. Lots of driving and arranging things, etc. And somehow we also had to go move Samuel to his new dorm room for Fall 2011 on one of those days. But it is done now! Whew! Very hot weekend to be out and about!
My middle girls are both in class now...I am missing them already.
Next week Moriah will also head off to school. Then I will be left here at home with just the 2 youngest. Almost an empty nest! The hubbub will die down and we will have nothing to do but school work, practicing instruments, 4-H and keeping the home fires burning.
It's gonna' be awfully quiet here this year.
