Run!


I have finally just given up and decided to go back to running again. I don't think my plantar fasciitis will ever completely go away and I am just getting way too fat and out of shape, so I have started the Couch to 5K in 9 weeks plan. So far so good...I am just about ready to start week 3. I won't be burning up the world by any means...my "running" is more of a fast, old-lady shuffle these days. But as long as I can keep my foot problems from flaring up again, I figure I will be ahead. It really just isn't possible to get enough exercise any other way around here. Any kind of aerobics class or Curves or whatever requires 30+ minutes in the car to get there. Cycling is just about impossible (end up having to drive the bike somewhere to ride)...swimming only works in the summer (no indoor lane pool for miles and miles)...so that leaves running. And even running can get to be a hardship when the weather isn't cooperating. If it rains too much, our road is a mudhole and then I drive 15-20 minutes to get to the Sportsplex where there is a paved trail to run on. Of course, running was never my fave. And I am not good at it. But it is doable.
So running it is...
