I Survived the End of Another Schoolyear

Yes!  It is true!  I/we did it!

(Although, we usually keep doing some schoolwork through the summer...so, not totally the END...)

Moriah graduated!

Then she passed the NCLEX with flying colors and has already started working at UAB Hospital!  Woot!  Woot!  :o)

Abby graduated!

Next up for her, International Music Festival in Montecito, CA and then on to UA in the Fall with a Presidential Scholarship.  She was actually accepted into several outstanding schools (Oberlin Conservatory!) with hefty scholarships, but due to our current disastrous financial situation, felt it would be wiser to go locally for free.  Hopefully be able to transfer later.

Hannah and Josh finished up the semester with the Tuscaloosa Youth Symphony with their Spring Concert.

Hannah was 2nd chair, 2nd violins.  Josh 2nd chair viola...but sat 3rd in the concert while a faculty member was assisting them.

Everyone had their spring recitals:

Josh played Sarabande by Carl Bohm on the viola.

Hannah played Gigue from Sonata in D Minor by Veracini on the violin.

Sarah Ying played a Seitz Concerto in G from Suzuki Book 4.
Unfortunately, the video of Sarah Ying didn't work out...but I did get a still pic afterwards!

We opened the pool during all this...
Jim started farming.
I moved dorm room stuff home (again.)
We planted our garden and got our chickens set up for the summer.
And I have been working on finding a job.
Anybody hears of anything, let me know!

The Christmas I Didn't Blog

Well, the top pic was our Christmas card...obviously.  And the bottom was one of the few pics I took on Christmas Day.  To say we were busy this Christmas is such an understatement that I just.can't.even...
What we did for most of the time everyone was home was just rest.  We were all just tired.

The Thanksgiving I Didn't Blog

We spent the holiday with family in Pensacola...well at Portofino Resort on Santa Rosa Island!
Had a super time, ran a fairly awesome Turkey Trot 5K even though it was freezing cold, ate more turkey and trimmings than anyone ought to and enjoyed the beach atleast a little (when the weather allowed!)

The Birthday I Didn't Blog

Josh turned 12!

Post-Halloween Post

Didn't get this up at Halloween time.  Camera battery went dead and I just replaced it and downloaded my pics.  We had a fun time actually trick-or-treating with friends.  First time we have done that in a long while...first time ever for Josh and Sarah Ying, I think.  Usually we just drive to 3 or 4 houses near us here in the country.  We originally planned to go to Tuscaloosa but ugly weather intervened.  But the night
was a great success anyway and the kids had a marvy time and scored loads of candy, too!

Stopped at Grandma's on the way to town:

Before trick-or-treats:

Actually going door to door:

Sarah Ying found out the hard way that wigs are hot and high heels don't make good walking shoes, lol!
But other than that, a good time was had by all.
Hope your Halloween was a Happy!
